Set screws are also known as headless screws.
According to the purpose, it can be divided into: Flat point, Domed point, Cone point, Cup point. It’s used to fasten the relative position of machine.
When in used, the set screw is inserted the hole of the machine to be fixed, and the end of the screw been pressed firmly on the surface of another machine, and the former would be fixed on the latter.
Slotted and hexagon socket set screws are used on parts whose nail heads are not allowed to be exposed, and square head set screws are suitable for parts whose nail heads are allowed to be exposed.
If we compared with the compression force of screw, the slotted will be the smallest and the square will be the largest. Hex socket will be the moderate. Cone point screws are suitable for parts with small strength.
